Trojan is a program that infects computers all over the world. Cyber crooks are behind the rise in these sneakyprograms. It infects it to sell rogue software, send unwanted emails and/or steal personal data from a persons PC. Microsoft reported that the number of trojan programs removed from computers around the world in half of 2007 rose by 300 percent from the first half of the year. The percentage has gone up sso high in the second half of 2007 because computers are downloading software to detect this trojan program and any other malicious programs. “Trojans can log keystrokes to gather passwords, send spam from private computers or harvest email addresses or personal information for criminal purposes.” The most common trojan found last year was called the Win32/Zlob. this program is easily and stupidly downloaded right from the internet. The designers of this program trick people into saving the program, by making them think they need this new piece of software to watch a video or download a song. Once installed pop up messages consistently come up and warnings that your computer is infected flash all over the computer screen. “The trojan then sends adverts offering to sell rogue anti-spyware on sites that could expose customers to credit card fraud. Microsoft said the problem is global and linked to organized criminal gangs.” Majority of trojans come from the United States, China and South America. Infected computer made safe went from one million to 19 million in one year. People have to be more careful when surfing the web and downloading things. Some people aren’t even curious to whether what they are downloading may be a virus. They unwittingly download and click on things that they have no idea about. People should pay attention to the news more often if they want to save their PC’s. http://www.microsoft.com/security/portal/sir.aspx

Fair use is a doctrine in United States of America copyright laws. This doctrine allows limited use of copyrighted material. It does not require permission from the rights holder. It provides for the legal, non-licensed citation or incorporation of copyrighted material in another author’s work under a four-factor balancing test. It is based around free speech rights which are provided by the First amendment of the U.S constitution. A rap band called 2 live crew took ideas from another artist for a song called Pretty Woman. In the 1960’s Roy Orbison and William Dees wrote a song called “Oh, Pretty Woman”. In 1989 2 Live Crew had an album called “As Clean As They Wanna Be”. One of the songs off the album is “Pretty Woman”. In this song, 2 Live Crew took the obvious bass riff from the original Orbison- Dees song and changed the lyrics. 2 live crew gave credit to Roy Orbison and William Dees on their album. In the case of Campbell versus Acuff-Rose Music the court looked at the factors of permissible fair use and determined that parody was indeed protected fair use, even though the perpetrators gained financially . The fair use doctrine was highlighted in 1994 for the Supreme Court to see, of course due to 2 live crew. http://www.benedict.com/Audio/Crew/Crew.aspx

The European Union gave video games designers, makers and shops two years to come up with a code of conduct or rating sstem for video games to protect children from the violence portrayed in games. I agree that artists and creators should enjoys freedom to create whatever kinds of video games they want or dream up, but they have to consider how they impact society and our future leaders. Revenues are expected to reach 47.5 billion dollars in two years from video games alone. Video games cause agressive behaviors in children, and cause them to act out violently in shcool and at home. There is no actual linkage of school shootings occuring all over the world to video games, such as Man Hunt and Man hunt 2, but these children get to sit behind a control and virtually kill one another. There are live video games now, where you can play against people you dont know and hear wwhat they are saying as you play. I have been in a room with my cousins and have heard how violently they talk to kids they dont even know. I have babysat for kids who play “man hunt” games at recess and at home with siblings and friends. Whatever happened to tag and hide and go seek. There is too much violence on television and especially with video games and the new virtual reality and graphic design. I think it is a good idea for video game creators to have to rate their games and come up with a better way to prevent young children from purhcasing “Violent murdering gun games.” http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080422/wr_nm/eu_videogames_dc;_ylt=As.5piHGnFGHev.DByILgigjtBAF

Some people believe that emails and online conversations replace offline relationships, but many believe that they only compliment offline relationships. I think that email and online communication is very important. I believe that a good online relationship goes hand in hand with a good offline relationship. The internet is important for everyday life. I can create and send my resume online, which in time will lead to a face to face interview. This process of emailing has saved the applicant and employer very much time and energy. I know that they read my resume, know what to expect and are interested in my skills. While they know, out of the hundreds or thousands of resumes, that they can schedule interviews with the applicant that has the skills and knowledge to complete the job needed. The email is a way to smooth out the roughness and the interview is the personal test. Internet is also important for a way to keep in contact with important people. Most people cannot pick up the phone regularly and call old friends and family, but they can email them. I have to admit i have facebook. I use it to talk to my cousins, sisters and friends all over the world. I know what’s going on in their lives and can catch up with them if i dont. I use the internet to schedule times to meet up with them, book my flights and everything else needed to get together with the people i love to have that physical connection. Without a doubt the internet has a positive effect in strengthening relationships. The internet provides a never-ending connection of resources. Whether it is something simple like finding a couch on craigs list or finding a job after graduating, the internet comes along with all of your friends, family and important needs.
