Using fabric as a cell phone charger?

Yes, they actually thought up a way to charge your cell phone or MP3 player from the shirt off of your own back! United States scientist invented a micro fiber fabric that creates its own electricity. The person wearing the shirt can generate power by simply walking the loop or if a nice beach breeze blows in.  This is a very economical way to safe energy and money on that electric bill. The fibers are thinner than human hair and are covered in gold. They run all throughout the fabric. When you walk they rub together creating energy. I need one of these! As of now they are working on a way to protect the wires if they get wet, but hey on a sunny day i can walk around with my uncharged cellphone or i-pod and charge it! I mean we have the i-phone which is a computer at your hands any time of day and now a shirt that can charge your i-phone if you are out and it dies. What will they think of next?http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/GadgetGuide/WireStory?id=4284493&page=2

This is a great idea! Many times my phone has died in the most inconvenient times. The thought that I could electronically charge it using fabric is awesome. The more advances that are made year after year really shocks me. When I have children one day who knows what they will be able to do from advances in technology. I can’t wait!

I love this idea! It is amazing what they come up with now. This would be perfect for anyone to charge their phone, etc… since you dont have to be at home or in your car. It would save time and be fun too! So much has changed since the first cell phones were out, Im looking forward to what they will come up with next.

This is great! I always loose my phone charger or forget to take it places that I really need it and my phone dies. I think you should buy me one for Earth Day, Missy. You have not gotten me anything yet and my feelings are a little hurt.
